Required or optional constraint?

On the Lessons > Edit page, you can specify periods when your lesson cannot or should not be planned. Use the Unavailable periods button for each lesson to set these constraints. You can choose whether this is an optional or required constraint.

Is this maybe a teacher constraint?

If the restriction pertains to a teacher's schedule, use the Unavailable periods option for the teacher instead (Teachers > Edit).
