Most schools aim to minimize gaps in teachers schedules, but this can be challenging when students are split into two or three shifts throughout the day. It may be nearly impossible to create a timetable with minimal gaps for teachers.
However, you can inform the system that gaps between shifts are acceptable. Here's an example:
Go to Teachers > (Teacher A) > Edit > Constraints and ensure that the Lessons grouped by shifts constraint is active.
Now, the timetable for Teacher A on a 12-period day might look like this (O represents a scheduled lesson):
